Emma McGuirk

With a passion for education and international adventures, Emma brings a wide range of skills and networks to our team. Emma’s drive to reach beyond her comfort zone led to her living in Finland, Japan, and China, and to completing a full-time te reo Māori immersion course in 2010. Emma expresses her identity as Tangata Tiriti through action. Always looking for opportunities to support mana motuhake, tino rangatiratanga, and collective action alongside Pacific and Māori friends. After working in Aotearoa and internationally, Emma returned to uni and completed a PhD in social anthropology. In addition to lecturing, she has worked in retail, cleaning, telemarketing, orchard work, community development, adult and secondary education, and more. If you’ve ever dreamed about working or studying overseas, or you want to start a brand new career, come and see us. Audacious dreams can turn into plans, and making good plans – with the right support – can help you to build a whole new life.
