Meet Ioane Tyrell, aka Willie, an exemplary individual with deep ancestral ties to Faleasiu, Sataua, and Laulii in Samoa, and a proud alumnus of Hamilton Boys’ High School. Willie’s remarkable journey through our Puatala Impact Program is a story we are thrilled to share.

Willie first discovered Puatala at our inaugural STEMHUB 2021 event for secondary schools across Waikato. It was there that his passion for the Electrical Trades ignited. After completing his studies at Hamilton Boys’ High School, Willie joined Puatala’s Impact Program.

With the support of our team, Willie refined his soft skills and was connected with numerous opportunities, ultimately choosing to pursue a career with Northpower. Willie recently completed his cadetship with Northpower and is now embarking on a promising apprenticeship as a Line Mechanic. His journey is a shining testament to his unwavering commitment and determination.

We take immense pride in celebrating Willie’s transformative journey. His readiness to seize every opportunity has not only paved the way for a successful career but also opened a world of limitless possibilities.
