Celebrating Success: Latu Unga’s Journey in Puatala

We are thrilled to spotlight the remarkable journey of Latu Unga, who has achieved a significant 12-month milestone in his career with our friends down at Downer. A former student of Otahuhu College, Latu joined the Puatala programme “Impact” at the conclusion of his Year 13. From the outset, Latu demonstrated qualities that set him apart – he is hardworking, respectful, and driven by a hunger to learn and excel in his career.

Recently, Puatala had the privilege of supporting Latu in his pursuit of personal and professional growth through 1-on-1 and group development sessions. We assisted him in completing his defensive driving course, a significant milestone that enabled him to obtain his Full License. With his newfound license, Latu is excited to transition from manual labour to gaining skills in operating machinery and vehicles—a testament to his ambition and determination.

As we reflect on Latu’s journey, we are filled with optimism and excitement for the future. We are confident that he will continue to thrive and make remarkable strides in his career. Latu’s success embodies the core values of Puatala – empowerment, opportunity, and resilience.
