Recently, we partnered with Rosehill College after identifying an opportunity to support one of their key student priorities – placing students into meaningful work experience that sparks future career pathways.

From School to the World of Work

Through Puatala’s trusted network of local businesses and organisations, Puatala quickly secured placements across electrical, construction, medical, and hospitality industries. These hosts don’t just open their doors—they share their time, expertise, and genuine commitment to guiding the next generation of talent.

Students Gaining More than Experience

Before stepping into their placements, students expressed real excitement and gratitude. Once onsite, they experienced the real pace and expectations of their chosen fields—from shadowing medical teams to joining electrical crews and hospitality kitchens. Each placement offered a genuine taste of professional life and a valuable reality check on what everyday life in the workforce is like, and the diversity of roles within each industry.

Building Pathways and Strengthening Community

These opportunities are far more than a few days on site. They help students discover their strengths, build networks, and explore future apprenticeships or further training.
