At Puatala, our mission is simple but powerful: Building Better Lives through Real Opportunities. That’s exactly what came to life recently during a Career Experience Day we co-hosted with Metlifecare Edgewater Village.

We welcomed a group of high school students into a working retirement village environment—not just to observe, but to connect. They met the people behind the roles, asked questions, and heard honest, inspiring stories about the journeys that led each person to where they are today. These weren’t presentations—they were conversations rooted in trust, openness, and belief in the next generation.

That spirit of integrity—being real and showing up authentically—was evident throughout the day. The team at Edgewater spoke from the heart and created an environment where students felt seen and supported. It’s these kinds of interactions that remind us just how powerful a single conversation can be.
